"It was my friend's birthday yesterday and I called Sadies Bistro to arrange surprise lunch for her. I spoke to Zinhle, a very nice and calm lady. She assisted me with everything I requested and they went to deliver the food at Johannesburg central saps. She went extra mile in making the surprise a memorable one. Thank you Zinhle and Sadies Bistro, my friend rated the food 10 over 10."

"This café is in a well gentrified area of the inner city. The eye is bombarded with a million and one points of interest from the mosaic tile paving to the art deco facade of the neighbouring buildings - it is indeed a beautiful spot. The food was fine with a significant serving size but the price matches. The gourmet sandwich I had would have been better with smoked salmon as per the menu, however they were out. I appreciate them being accommodating of that with the substitution of poached salmon. The milkshake was delicious. I am giving a 4 star rating because the wait was very long but the service in terms of friendliness was good."

"I asked Julian what Gogo Sadie would recommend he suggested the Lebanese Batata Harra. I don’t regret my decision, best potatoes you’ll have."

"Hidden gem in the heart of Johannesburg. I would have never thought to go there, we had a company red bus city tour and stopped at Sadies for lunch. The owner explained the history of the place and introduced the staff and events of the day. Meals were absolutely delicious and great value for money. Could not find any fault or complaint and everyone had that personal touch. When asked about parking if we had to come again. The owner said he will arrange parking. Great day out in the middle of JHB. Definitely a must."

"Was here with my boyfriend recently, absolutely loved it, he was visiting and I wanted to give him a taste of the inner city and this bistro hits the mark perfectly. We had coffee and curry under the old standard bank skyscraper, and even whilst we were sitting outside we never felt unsafe, the coffee and food were superb My only gripe is that they’re not open on weekends, otherwise I would have brought more of my friends here"
